OMG THAT SONG BOOK TAG

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! I hope you are all well and having a good day considering the circumstances. Today I will be doing the OMG That Song Book Tag – like everyone, I adore music and was so excited to find this tag (which I found here)

My Jam: A song you have to listen to no matter how many times you’ve heard it and a book that you’ll never get sick of…
Intro – Khalid. This is one of my favourite songs and such an atmospheric vibe that leads into the whole album.
Stardust – Neil Gaiman. I think I’ll keep rereading this until the day I die. It’s such an easy read and I have so many nostalgic feelings attached to it. I am obsessed with the movie (it is my all time favourite film) and reading it just brings a smile to my face every time.

Throwback: a song that reminds you of the cringeiest time in your life and a book you read that you would wouldn’t like if you read it now…
The Ballad of Mona Lisa – Panic! at the Disco. I still love Panic, but this reminds me of the cringey 12 year old Lucy!
The Host – Stephanie Meyer. I really loved this book and the movie when I was younger, but I don’t think I would feel the same now. I would like to read it again and see but it’s such a long book I don’t know if I can put myself through it.

Replay: A recent song that you have on repeat and a recent favorite book…
Blinding Lights – The Weeknd. I have been absolutely obsessed with this song lately! I love all of the Weeknd’s new album but this one is just so upbeat and funky it’s a perfect feelgood song.
Lovely War – Julie Berry. Expect a review on this soon, but this is definitely one of my new favourites. I adored the storytelling and characters in this book and it really tugged on my heartstrings.

Gets me: a song that is literally me and a book that is me in book form…
22 – Taylor Swift. I’m turning 22 this year and I just can’t wait for this to be my anthem for the whole year!
The Hating Game – Sally Thorne. I literally only chose this one because her name is Lucinda (and it’s quite a rare name) and she works in an office, like me. Unfortunately I don’t know any 6ft+ guys named Josh, but if you do, send them my way!

Let’s Go: Pick your best pump up song and a book that inspires you…
Turn off the Lights – Panic! at the Disco. This song just gets into it straight away and it’s super fast with such a strong beat. The best pump up song!
All the Light We Cannot See – Anthony Doerr. This was such an inspiring book and the stories Doerr wove together through World War Two were so inspiring.

Chill: Your best chill or relaxing song and a book you’d curl up with on a rainy day…
To Me – Alina Baraz. I love all of Alina Baraz’s songs, but this one has such a chilled, relaxing vibe and really reminds me of those lo-fi study songs that are so popular on Youtube.
Clockwork Angel – Cassandra Clare. This is such a comfort read to me, I’ve read it so many times and I adore returning to these characters!

Addicting: A guilty pleasure song and a light, trashy read you can’t help but love…
Rockstar – Nickelback. I’m not ashamed but I will talk no further on the subject.
Delirium – Lauren Oliver. I know that if I read this again I would hate it, but oh my god I adored this book and loved the sequel even more.

Nostalgia: A throwback song you look back on fondly and a book you read and loved when you were young…
Dancing in the Moonlight – Toploader. This is such a staple song in Britain and takes me back to weddings, parties and school discos. It never gets old!
City of Glass – Cassandra Clare. My second Cassandra Clare book on here. This was my favourite in The Mortal Instruments series and I remember staying up super late during my exams just so I could read it!

I’d love for you to do this tag and let me know if we have any similarities or differences. Lets chat in the comments!

Happy reading (and stay safe!),
Lucy

  1. This tag is very cool. Stardust by Neil Gaiman is the best, but my mum borrowed my copy recently and now she doesn’t remember where she put it. I hope we’ll find it soon, that’s my favourite by Gaiman.
