Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well and are having a great day. Today I’ll be doing the 90’s movie book tag! I’m a 90’s baby and absolutely love the films that came out during this era, as soon as I saw this tag I knew I had to do it!
She’s All That – Name a book that has an odd pairing but they still fit perfectly
I really struggled with this prompt but I’m gonna go with Lou and Reid from Serpent & Dove. I mean, she’s a witch and he’s a witch hunter… that’s pretty odd, right??
10 Things I Hate About You – A book/series that you have a love/hate relationship with
For this prompt I have to say the Twilight series. I loved these books so much when I was younger and failed to see the MANY problematic elements of the story. The films are also so nostalgic for me, and while I acknowledge that they are bad, I can’t seem to stop myself loving them.
Clueless – A character that is totally clueless but you love them anyway
I’m going to say Lucy from The Hating Game! I love her to absolute pieces, and while she reminds me a lot of me, she really was not interpreting Josh’s messages in the right way. We could have saved a lot of time if she did – just sayin!
Titanic – Name a book that made you cry
Literally any book, and this prompt is used a lot so I’m going to try and pick another book that had my 3 worst crying episodes (Crooked Kingdom, A Monster Calls and The Nightingale). So I think I’m going to say the ending of Kingdom of Ash was a pretty rough time, crying wise.
American Pie – A book that makes you laugh
This prompt is literally made for The Bromance Book Club. This is one of the funniest books I’ve ever read but it still has such a strong heart. There’s nothing like a bunch of guys using romance novels to fall in love!
Can’t Hardly Wait – A book with a crazy party
This prompt had me so stuck! I’m starting to wonder if I’ve ever read a book with a crazy party in it… I would have to say Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo – I can’t really remember it very well but there was something to do with drugs and different floors?? I’m probably not remembering that right at all but it’s what I’m going with!
Cruel Intentions – Name a character that you can never fully trust
For this prompt I’m going to pick a recent read and say Kasta from The Kinder Poison. He’s got a lot going on and he’s working some stuff out, so I don’t think it’s his fault that I don’t trust him, but as soon as I think I understand him he throws a curve ball!
Drive Me Crazy – Name your favourite ‘boy next door’ or ‘girl next door’ couple
I really struggled with this one, but the first thing that came into my head was Maddie and Olly from Everything, Everything. I mean, they did live next door to each other!
Scream – A book with a memorable villain
For this prompt I have to say Keris from An Ember in the Ashes. She is suchhh a great villain – by that of course I mean that’s she’s horrifyingly bad! She crosses so many lines!
The Craft – Name a book with witches
Ooh I get to say a niche pick here and go with The Passion of Dolssa by Julie Berry. While I preferred her other book, Lovely War, much more, it was still a really interesting take on witchcraft in a historical setting.
if you want to do this tag then please consider yourself tagged! Let me know what you think of my answers in the comments below – I’d love to hear them!
