Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and having a fantastic day. Today I’ll be detailing my reading stats and quarterly wrap up. I’ve decided to do one of these every quarter, as it’s too much work for me to do a wrap up every month and I prefer seeing the higher numbers anyway!
Now we’re in quarter three! I can’t believe how fast this year is going. Now that I’m back at work and my master’s degree is starting, I will definitely be reading less. But I’m eager to see these stats for the summer to see how I got on!
This quarter I read 61 books
July – 22
August – 26
September – 13
Seeing that decrease in September makes me wanna cry, not gonna lie. But other things always get in the way, especially work and school – so I need to make sure I keep on top of life responsibilities too!
This quarter I read about 23,000 pages. That’s a decrease of 10,000 pages from last quarter, but again I’m not surprised at all! That’s still a really good number.
This quarter I read books in the following categories –
Fantasy – 30
Historical Fiction – 1
Mystery – 1
Romance – 27
I’m definitely not as varied with my tastes this summer that’s for sure. I’ve really been interested in fantasy and romance at the moment, and they’re the two genres I go for the most anyway!
The books I read this quarter were categorised into the following ages. Some of the books in the Adult category could be classed as New Adult, but I have so much trouble deciding where they go I just decided to bulk it all into Adult.
YA – 20
Adult – 39
I knew I’d been reading a lot more adult books this quarter but I wasn’t expecting almost double! I think that’s probably due to the fact I’ve been reading a lot of romance lately, and discovered historical romances too.
Favourite books of the month
My favourite book of each month was:
July – A Conjuring of Light
August – The Nightingale
September – Finale
Here are my ratings for the last three months:
Overall, while there have been some absolute gems I’ve been reading, the books I’ve been going for in general I’ve not enjoyed as much. I think that’s because at the beginning of the year when I was new in the book community, I was reading all the staple favourites, so I ended up liking almost everything. Now I’ve read all those, I’m getting a mixture in my ratings. Not that I mind, as most of the time I enjoy what I read!
