BOOK ADAPTATIONS I’D LOVE TO SEE #2

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and having a fantastic day. This is the second post in a series I’ll be doing, where I share some books that I think would be absolutely amazing on screen! I absolutely love movies, and when I read I picture it like a movie in my head. It would be great to have every book on screen, but here are some that I desperately need!

The Lunar Chronicles

This would be such a good, different thing to see on screen. The fairytale element mixed with the sci-fi would be so much fun! I personally think it would work better as a series compared to a movie, but I would just love to see these characters on screen. It would attract a large audience and would be a huge difference to see compared to all of the classic retellings we get!

Get a Life, Chloe Brown

I need to see all three Brown sisters on screen but I thought it would make sense to start with Chloe. This would make such a good, quirky British romcom that I feel we just don’t get anymore! It’s also incredibly diverse and doesn’t shy away from issues that aren’t talked about in mainstream media. This would be such a great book to movie adaptation.

The Beautiful

Could you just imagine this book on screen? It would just be incredible. I feel like this could be the revival of what we have been missing since the early seasons of The Vampire Diaries. The setting, the 1800s costumes, the spooky vibes, the angst between Bastien and Celine, all of it would make for such a good adaption.

The Nightingale

If this was adapted into a movie it would actually break my heart, but I feel like it would be a great adaptation. Although there are so many darker elements, the story of sisterhood and the strength of women in the war is a really important story to tell. This is one of my favourite historical fiction books and I would love to see it on screen too.

Caraval

One of the first things that popped into my head when reading this series is how great it would be as a film. The whimsy, magical world coupled with the endearing and funny characters would be just a joy to see on screen. I could also imagine, the franchise, the merch, everything, would be super successful.

I may do some books that I wouldn’t like to see adapted too (as I do have a few!). Let me know if you agree with any of my choices, and if you have any suggestions for my next post! Also, let me know if you liked this different style of post as I get paranoid when I don’t post reviews or tags that you guys won’t be interested!

Happy reading,
Lucy

  1. I love posts like this because its always interesting to know what specific things others would want to see in the adaptations! I sadly haven’t read many of the books on this list, only Caraval. But I love how you summed up what would make them great for the screen. I think for Caraval I’d love to see how the world and aesthetics look! Lovely post Lucy! 💖
